IN-SEASON OUTLINE / STYLE OF PLAY
Attire / Equipment
• Practice sessions
• players can bring own ball to practice but balls will be provided by coach
• players must wear designated practice T-shirts and shorts
• Games
• Both sets of uniforms must be brought to every game
Practice Schedule
• Duration -- 1.5 hours max.
• Times -- 2:30-4:30pm or evenings
Team Warm-up
• Individual preparation - 15 minutes
• Team preparation - 30 minutes
• Cool down - 5 minutes
Objectives of the season
• Playing simple and effective - quick and intelligent build up play to goal; with preplanned patterns to penetrate consistently.
• Scoring from shots and rebounds and finishing from crosses.
• Zonal defending as a three at the back; and crowding the ball quickly in numbers to apply high pressure on the ball.
• Incorporate a high level of commitment and motivation for serious soccer playing.

Good position play
Play simple and play the ball away from pressure and into space
Try to score when able to
Opponents Possession
Immediate ball pressure in numbers
Try to win the ball back quickly
Mark other opponents tight and follow runs
Win and loose balls.
Transition
Counter attack quickly with good accurate passing to front player.
